St. Peter’s is a place where the whole family is supported and nurtured in their life with God. Children are full members of the Body of Christ, not "the church of tomorrow" but the church of today.

Inviting kids and families into a life with God through wonder, tradition, and spiritual formation
sundays
Children, youth, and families are always welcome at St. Peter's. Activity bags with coloring sheets and other quiet toys and books are near the entrances, and older children and youth may request a Sermon Notes journal.
During the 10:15 AM service, Nursery is provided for babies up to Pre-K. Grades K-5 may process from the back of the church to Godly Play, returning during the Peace. Families are encouraged to sit near the front of the church in order for kids to see and hear more easily.
Nursery:
Nursery care during the service ensures even our youngest members are welcomed and safe. Babies through children in Pre-K are cared for by two background checked, Safe Church trained nursery attendants.
Godly Play:
Kids ages 5-12 follow the cross out to listen, learn, and wonder about a Bible story or theme of the church year. Godly Play is a Montessori based program teaching about the stories of God in the Bible with open ended, simple lessons and materials. There are always two background checked, Safe Church trained adults in the Godly Play room--one door person and one storyteller.
Acolytes:
Children and youth in 4th-12th grades may be trained to serve as Acolytes in the liturgy. As they take on more roles and responsibilities, they will advance from Torchbearers (carrying fire) to Crucifer (carrying the cross) and eventually may train as Head Acolyte in high school.
Youth Programs
Youth (6th-12th graders) are invited to participate in monthly SPY (St. Peter's Youth) outings, diocesan events, summer camps, and service opportunities. We encourage youth leadership in worship, parish life, and community involvement. Our confirmation program prepares teenagers to affirm their baptismal promises and take their place as adult members of the church.
Family & Inter-generational Events
We gather for intergenerational activities, seasonal celebrations, and service opportunities. These include shared meals and seasonal celebrations that build community across generations. We support parents and caregivers as the primary faith leaders of their families through resources, discussion groups, and encouragement.
Special Programs
Throughout the year, we offer service opportunities, the Christmas pageant, an Easter egg hunt, and other special events that create joyful memories while teaching about life with God. Our collaboration with local schools and community organizations extends our ministry beyond church walls, serving families throughout Skidaway Island and greater Savannah.
